What books should entrepreneurs read?

Answer by Keith Rabois:

Unfortunately, there are very few books that truly merit reading, but the following are all useful for a consumer Internet entrepreneur:

1.   Hackers & Painters:  Big Ideas of the Computer Age by Paul Graham

2.  Predictably Irrational:  The Hidden Forces that Shape our Decisions by Dan Ariely

3. The Innovator's Solution by Clayton Christensen  http://www.amazon.com/Innovators-Solution-Creating-Sustaining-Successful/dp/1578518520/ref=pd_ys_iyr408

4.  Warfighting by the US Marine Corp.

5.  Get Back in the Box:  Innovation from the Inside Out by Douglas Rushkoff  http://www.amazon.com/Get-Back-Box-Innovation-Inside/dp/0060758694/ref=pd_ys_iyr124

6.  Googled:  The End of the World as We Know It by Ken Auletta

7. The Curse of the Mogul: What's Wrong with the World's Leading Media Companies by Jonathan Knee

8.  Planet Google by Randall Stross http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Google-Companys-Audacious-Everything/dp/141654691X/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1242161441&sr=8-10

9.  Spent:  Sex, Evolution and Consumer Behavior by Geoffrey Miller

In addition, for a first-time entrepreneur:  Art of the Start by Guy Kawasaki is an excellent introduction to many key issues:

For a good historical perspective on the evolution of the consumer Internet world, I would start with John Battelle's The Search

The classic books to read, albeit perhaps with less immediate/practical relevance today:
a) The Little Kingdom:  Steve Jobs, The Creation of Apple, and How It Changed the World by Michael Moritz;
b) The Monk & The Riddle by Randy Komisar
c) The New New Thing by Michael Lewis.
